The {URL-EMAIL-UNSUBSCRIBE} QuickCode Tag may be used to create a link that a customer can click to automatically be unsubscribed from Modular Mailer mailing lists, including Email Series and Email Batches.

Upon clicking a link created by the {URL-EMAIL-UNSUBSCRIBE} QuickCode Tag, the customer will be directed to the store's Mailing List Management page, and the Email Opt In setting in the customer's account will immediately be toggled to NO. The appearance of the store's Mailing List Management page may be customized by editing the email_unsubscribe.template.php template within the store's live template package.

Customers who have unsubscribed from mailing lists will still receive individually generated store emails, such as Order Receipt emails.

The {URL-EMAIL-UNSUBSCRIBE} QuickCode Tag may be used within any Email Template created for use in Modular Mailer Email Series and Email Batches, as well as email templates for Store-Generated Email Messages, and HTML Templates (such as customer_account_1.template.php).

If the {URL-EMAIL-UNSUBSCRIBE} QuickCode Tag is not present in an Email Template, then Modular Mailer will automatically add an unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email generated using that Email Template. If the {URL-EMAIL-UNSUBSCRIBE} QuickCode Tag is already present in an Email Template, then Modular Mailer will not automatically add an unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email generated using that Email Template.

The following may be added to the source code of an HTML Template, or the HTML Version of an Email Template:

When the associated storefront page or email is viewed, then the following link will be displayed (in this example, the Company Name from the System Settings is My Store):

If the link is displayed on a storefront page, then any logged in customer who clicks the link will be unsubscribed. If the link is displayed in an email, then the customer to whom the email was sent may click the link to be unsubscribed.
